It will be interesting to stay at your place. What I like most while traveling is to find out as much as it is possible about the culture, people, their customs. I like to communicate with people of a different culture. It is of great interest.

Nice to hear You Johan. The program of Festival Garifuna is not completely clear yet. The main festivity, which is always the best part of the Festival will be held in Orinoco 19. of Nov, as always. Before that there is activities in Bluefields, Orinoco, La Fe and Marshall Point. Agenda and program will be clear in few weeks. You ask me if Bluefields and Pearl Lagoon without mention Orinoco were worth visiting-- hell yes!-- You knew it already ;). Shall I make reservation?

Hi Matti,
We (my friend Petra and I) are travelling from Tela in Honduras to San Jose in CR from 29 Oct to 18 Nov. It's possible for us to visit Orinoco between 9 & 16 Nov. Maybe we can first visit Corn Islands and then backtrack to Bluefields and eventually to Orinoco to participate the Garifuna festival for a day or 3. You think this is worth the trip from Managua? We have to catch a San Jose bound bus in Managua on 16 Nov at the latest.

I am so happy and proud to see this web page. It is great that you are educating and bringing knowledge to so many about my beautiful Nicaragua. There are so many people, including many Garifunas, unaware that the Garifuna culture still lives in Nicaragua. Great job Kensy!

I have many fond memories of my stay with you and Matti at Hostal Garifuna in August or 2008. Your hospitality and knowledge made the experience a wonderful education. Did you receive the package I sent that year? I hope all is well with you both!
